So, the owner of Autobuses A. Tomas told us everything we wanted to hear… until six days before our wedding at Finca El Ficus de Girona on 2 June, when everything went horribly.

The drivers did a “test drive” around Dénia to see pick up and drop off points for our guests. Suddenly, they told us they couldn't access several points they had agreed to pick up at. The boss suggested that our guests, including the mother of the groom, walk 10 minutes in heels and suits, make-up done in the hot sun to the pick up point, or we get them a taxi after we’ve paid a premium price for bus rental for a wedding. I was horrified at her suggestion. She offered to pay for the taxi (a whole five euros after we’d paid nearly 1000).

While the drivers were saying they couldn't fit their minibuses down certain roads, we saw on Google maps that massive cargo trucks could pass through the same places.

On our wedding the bus drivers were incapable of navigating to the venue and the guests had to get out to swap buses before arriving at the venue…. So the “dry run”? I don’t believe it ever actually happened, and if it did, the team didn’t put in much effort.

Night of the wedding, midnight and 2am return trips went fine… Final return trip at 4am was ridiculous. First the driver refused to take the 30 people he had space for, took only 22 and left two guests with us that ultimately had to sleep at our venue because there were no available taxis at 4.30 in the morning.

Worst of all, the return addresses provided by me to my wedding planner and then to the bus company have NOT been given to the driver! The driver had no addresses for foreign guests and of course cannot speak to them. My (bride’s) sister, brother and sister-in-law got in the front of the bus and opened Google maps to show the driver where they were going (about a 6km) drive away (other guests witnessed this), but when they were the last guests on the bus, the driver refused to drive them home and even tried to kick them off the bus several times, saying he had no idea how to go to their place, despite my sister’s Google maps in front of his face!

My sister, brother and sister-in-law had now all turned on their expensive roaming services to try to reach myself or my father, but as I was celebrating my wedding, I didn’t have my phone. They were stuck on the bus around two hours before the driver finally got them home. In the end, none of them were able to make it to our event the next day because they were exhausted.

Guess who didn't file an incident report with the boss? Guess what happened when I messaged the owner after? Nothing. She denied any and all responsibility despite having had the addresses for the FAMILY OF THE BRIDE. She thought nothing happened despite me having texts about it, proof of it and multiple phone calls from my sister and brother from 5-6am.

Worst bus service with very untrustworthy practices.
